Soter Insure Series B Draws SC Ventures, SBI and Major Crypto Backers
Soter Insure secures institutional heavyweights in its Series B round, joining a Galaxy-led raise that includes Coinbase Ventures, Franklin Templeton and Brevan Howard Digital.
Abu Dhabi-based Soter Insure has expanded its Series B funding round with new investments from SC Ventures, the innovation arm of Standard Chartered, and Japanese financial giant SBI, the company announced Thursday. The two institutional investors join a round led by Galaxy that has attracted a roster of prominent backers across both traditional finance and the digital asset sector.
Token Bay Capital also participated in the round as a follow-on investor, reinforcing earlier confidence in the company's trajectory. The broader syndicate includes Coinbase Ventures, asset management firm Franklin Templeton and crypto-focused hedge fund Brevan Howard Digital, signaling widening institutional appetite for insurance infrastructure tied to digital assets.

The participation of SC Ventures and SBI is particularly notable given both firms' standing as regulated, globally active financial institutions. Their involvement lends credibility to Soter Insure's positioning at the intersection of insurance and blockchain-based financial services, a segment that has drawn increasing scrutiny and capital as the digital asset industry matures.
The round reflects a broader trend of traditional finance players moving beyond passive observation of the crypto sector and directly backing infrastructure-layer companies. Abu Dhabi has emerged as a preferred domicile for such ventures, offering a regulatory environment that accommodates both conventional and digital financial services.
Full terms of the investment, including the total amount raised, were not disclosed in the announcement. Continue reading at Cryptocurrency.
